The Brick Problem (Counting Consecutive Integers) or Combinations of Two Things at a Time

A pyramid is made of bricks. It is four bricks high with four bricks on the bottom row, 3 bricks on the row on top of that, then 2 bricks and then 1 brick. See Figure 1. How many total bricks would there be if the pyramid had 50 bricks on the base and it was 50 bricks high?
